About Me
Adnan Pavel is a postgraduate from University of East London and an Engineering Graduate from London Metropolitan University. He has also completed his second masters on Project Management. He has also completed an online course on Humanitarian response during conflict under Harvard University.
He is currently working as a faculty member under department of Government at the University of Essex, Uk. He is also pursuing his PhD on climate change and national security. His teaching focuses on Politics, Political Philosophy, Conflict & Cooperation, Ethics & Public Policy and Political Economy.
Adnan is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). He is member of International Institute of Strategic Studies (UK) and member of Chartered Management Institute.
Beside Adnan’s involvement with several think-tanks that work for climate change, national security, social mobility and good governance, he is also a well known broadcaster in the UK. He hosts a popular program for NTV Europe and also advises NTV on compliance and communication.
Adnan has joined numerous trainings and conferences in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia. He also write articles for newspapers and blogs for his own personal website for different social, political and international relations issues.
Adnan is also former Deputy President of London Metropolitan University Students’ Union. He was also Vice-Chair of Students’ Union trustee board and Chair of union Editorial board. He was also former Student Governor of London Metropolitan University.
He was an elected officer and he used to represent almost 18,000 students from different age groups, ethnicity, nationality and language. He worked intensively to ensure representation and participation of underrepresented groups, i.e. Black, Asian & Ethnic minority, LGBT and Women.
Adnan’s campaign won local and national accolade in the UK. He along with other elected officers lead the projects of Independent Students’ Union, Increase Participation of Students with Students’ Union, Campaign to increase Students’ Union election turnout, new media strategy of Students’ Union, Branding of Students’ Union, Volunteering Scheme of Students’ Union. It is mentionable that during his tenure the media outlets of Union was most successful in terms of programs and participation. He coordinated many successful campaigns either at university or nationally.
Adnan has been featured in many newspapers in the UK and Bangladesh. He was also interviewed by many international media like BBC, AL Jazeera, Channel 4, NTV, Shomoy TV, Channel S and many more.
From his student life, he is actively involved in different projects based on social mobility. He worked on different projects on youth unemployment, racial discrimination, International Students, climate change and so on. He also writes for local newspaper on various issues affecting community.
Adnan is currently working on various community projects including “Leadership Program” & “Youth Forum” for Bangladeshi young generation, “British-Bangladeshi students forum” , “Climate change”, “Community cohesion” and so on.
Adnan is honorary Life member of London Met Students’ Union, Leadership Foundation. He is also a Lifetime member of OCAS-Old Cadets’ Association of Sylhet.
